JOB OPPORTUNITY – ON-COURSE GROUNDSKEEPER

Eden has an immediate job opening for a Groundskeeper for the 2024 season. The position is full-time seasonal.

Applicants must be able to operate both in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently. In addition, the position.

Previous experience on a golf course or related work will be considered an asset.

Work Term/Hours:

  • Approximately April 1 st to October 31 st
  • Competitive compensation, in accordance with experience.
  • Working hours 40-42 per week with some weekend work required.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • General Landscaping duties
  • Use of machinery to maintain the golf course including mowers, tractors, trimmers, chainsaws, handheld gardening tools, etc.
  • Adhere to all safety and health guidelines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics, integrity, and innovation.
  • Work within a team environment and independently.
  • Moderate lifting required and manual work required.

Experience:

  • Previous golf course and/or landscaping experience. (Include references)

Eden has a need for a Pro Shop attendant for the 2024 season.  The position reports to the Pro Shop Manager and operates both in a team environment with the ability to work independently. 

 

Work Term/Hours: 

  • Approximately April 1st to October 31st.
  • 35-40 hours. Competitive hourly wage
  • Operates 7 days /week.

 

Key job responsibilities:

  • Taking and recording tee times reservations.
  • Collect monies for memberships, green fees, other golf fees and retail sales.
  • Complete daily sales summaries.
  • Maintain general order and cleanliness in the Pro Shop.
  • Adhere to all safety and health guidelines.
  • Remain courteous with patrons at all times.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • High level of communication skills.
  • Moderate lifting required.
  • Good computer skills.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Retail experience or previous Pro Shop/Golf experience would be an asset but will train the right candidate.

High school graduate or equivalent.

RETAIL/PRO SHOP SUPERVISOR

Eden Golf and Country Club is seeking an experienced individual to supervise our Pro Shop operation for the 2024 season. 

The individual will have had experience in the retail sector and possess a high level of enthusiasm, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.  Supervisory experience is essential combined with exceptional customer service qualities.  

The successful candidate will have the ability to solve problems, multitask and work independently.  Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends is required.

Experience in the golf field would be an asset. 

This is a full-time seasonal position.   Compensation is negotiable

Eden Golf and Country Club is in West Paradise, Annapolis County Nova Scotia.   The Club was established in 1941 as a not-for-profit organization and provides a variety of golf related services to members and guests.  The facilities include an 18-hole course, driving range, clubhouse with a full kitchen and bar service and golf pro shop.      

 

KEY SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Retail management    Supervisory Experience    Excellent Communication    Computer/POS

 

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Consistently offer professional, and engaging customer service.
  • Assist members and guests with information on Eden’s amenities and offers such as member rates, guest fees and other events.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained with adequate oversight to ensure the consistent delivery of services.
  • Ensure all staff are familiar with Eden’s policies and procedures and execute accordingly.
  • Schedule staff including yourself to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Maintain proper inventory controls, including the entry and pricing of merchandise and services. Includes arranging and displaying of merchandise.  
  • Ensure staff are trained on the aspects of the Lightspeed Golf and POS as they relate to Eden’s services and amenities.
  • Ensure the Pro Shop is maintained in an orderly and clean manner daily.
